Five Weeks at GMU

It's been five weeks since I started grad school, and the overwhelmed panic attacks I've had due to being back in the classroom have subsided. I'm starting to feel a little more at ease on campus and am pretty comfortable with my routine. Just to ensure you all that I'm actually going to class, here are just a few things I've learned so far...

1. Since 99% of my classmates are girls AND class is on Monday night, the most discussed topic is what is going to happen on the Bachelor that night, and how sad girls are they're missing it. It's nice to see that being a masters student does not equal a need for high quality television programing.

2. Since when did smoking becoming popular for college aged kids? I thought that went out of style around the time the stars of Clueless were enjoying fame.

3. My ability to procrastinate has only gotten better since being back in school. I swear it's the most useful thing the BYU taught me! I can find just about any excuse to put off writing a paper and sometimes I think my final product is actually better when I have a deadline coming up.

I really have learned so much (and most of it is actually relevant to my degree), and am really loving learning about global health. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I want to do with my degree, but since I have 18 months to make that decision, I'm not too stressed about it.
